Solar Mounting Clamps
IMG GROUP · ALUMINIUM PROFILES

Solar mounting clamp profiles are aluminium connection components used to secure photovoltaic modules to mounting rails. Mid clamps, end clamps and roof connection parts are selected together for the module layout and installation surface.
Applications and Technical Selection
The clamp connects the module frame to the rail. Selection requires frame height, contact surface and rail channel geometry to be assessed together. Mid and end connections have different functions, so the material schedule must reflect row arrangements as well as the total module count.
Mid clamps secure adjacent modules at their shared fixing positions. End clamps are used at the outer edges of panel rows. Catalogue variants with the same product name should not be assumed interchangeable. Follow the module manufacturer’s permitted clamp zones and the mounting system details.
Standing seam roof components connect the supporting structure to the roof detail. Seam geometry and roof covering properties affect the connection solution. Rail nuts must fit the rail channel and match the selected fasteners. The clamp, nut, bolt and rail should be assessed as a complete connection rather than selected by name alone.
Two arrays with the same number of panels may require different quantities of mid and end clamps if their rows are arranged differently. Mark every fixing point on the panel layout and compare the resulting schedule with the system installation instructions.
When adding components to an existing system, check the actual rail channel and module frame dimensions. Similar looking clamps may have different contact areas or connection geometry. Define the extrusion, cut piece length and associated fasteners separately to simplify quotation comparisons and site checks.

Preparing Your Enquiry
Provide the following information with the project drawings. List profiles and accessories separately to define the supply requirement.
- Module make, model, frame height and permitted fixing zones.
- Rail section, channel dimensions and matching nut type.
- Roof covering, seam detail or ground structure connection drawing.
- Cut piece lengths and machining or drilling requirements.
- Project requirements for wind, snow and environmental exposure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one clamp be used with every solar module? The frame and clamp geometry must match. Check the contact surface and approved fixing area even if the frame height appears compatible.
Does the catalogue value give the weight of one clamp? First confirm the unit and section reference. Finished piece weight depends on length and machining; the catalogue number is not automatically a single part weight.
What information is needed for a quotation? Send module and rail drawings, mid and end clamp quantities, required piece lengths and the delivery location.
