Strategic Visits to Manufacturers in China by IMG Group

Mert Ahmet Bozkurt and Remzi Örnek of IMG Group visited the Huaxi, HBIS, Tianming Tangshan and Zhong’an Steel facilities as part of their business trip to China.

During the programme, the delegation visited the production facilities and met directly with manufacturers to discuss the type of products considered for the Turkish market, and potential areas of cooperation.

In international supply chains, identifying the right products is only a part of the process. Understanding how and where a product is manufactured, as well as the capabilities of the production facility, is equally important. Production capacity, quality management, technical documentation, delivery reliability and direct communication with manufacturers are all key factors in building a sustainable supply chain.

IMG Group’s visit to China therefore aimed to carry out:

• Further develop the relations with their partner in Republic of China, Tangshan Tianming Steel, through discussions and supplier visits and
• Commercial discussions through on-site observations and to strengthening relationships with manufacturers through direct contact.

Tangshan Tianming Steel

Tangshan Tianming and IMG Group have realized a lot of projects together since 2025 and during the visit they enjoyed and celebrated their perfect and very successful cooperation over the last few months, especially on ZAM, AluZinc and Steel Bar sales to the Turkish Market.

The IMG Group delegation also met with the Tianming Steel Chairman, Mr.Shunli GUO, The Commercial Director Mr.Daniel Wang and The Commercial Manager (Turkey) Mr.Tiger GAO and discussed new market development opportunities.

Key topics included ensuring that product specifications complying with the requirements of the Turkish market, preparing the necessary technical documents and establishing how these processes would be coordinated between the parties.

Mr.Bozkurt and Mr.Ornek visited a lot of existing and potential steel products suppliers together with Mr. Wang and Mr.Gao throughout the China expedition, in a very extensive and very well organized programme over 10 days.

And quite naturally the both parties also also took the advantage of spending so much time together for deepening their personal relationships and exchanged views on the technical and commercial framework for forthcoming potential businesses.

Impressive HBIS Steel Tangshan Facilities

One of the key stops on the trip was HBIS, one of China’s leading steel producers. Mert Ahmet Bozkurt and Remzi Örnek visited the company’s facilities in Tangshan, where they gained first-hand insight into its production structure, plant infrastructure and product portfolio.

During the visit, the delegation toured the production facilities and discussed product specifications, applications and potential export opportunities with company representatives. This allowed the products to be evaluated not only through technical documentation, but also within the context of the production environment and manufacturing processes.

Particular attention was given to the wear-resistant steel plates facility Used in demanding applications such as heavy industry, mining and construction machinery, these products require a strong focus on production standards, technical conformity, quality certification and continuity of supply.

The technical exchange held at the HBIS Tangshan facility also gave the IMG Group delegation an opportunity to assess the company’s impressive production capabilities, organisational structure, excellent quality approach and technical communication processes.

These on-site observations helped identify the technical and operational factors that would need to be considered in any future procurement process.

Cooperation Talks with Huaxi Silicon Steel

Another important stop on the China programme was Huaxi Silicon Steel Factories in Jiangyin City. The IMG Group delegation met with Huaxi management to discuss products like CRGO and CRNGO that could potentially be introduced to the Turkish market, along with technical requirements and possible areas of cooperation.

The meetings covered not only product specifications, but also delivery times, documentation requirements, communication procedures and possible order models.

The Huaxi visit was not limited to short-term product sourcing. It also provided an opportunity to discuss how a longer-term and sustainable relationship between the companies could be developed. Direct communication enabled both sides to clarify their technical and commercial expectations more effectively. At the end of the visit both company representatives decided to start a Exclusive Agency Agreement for CRGO and CRNGO products for Turkish Market.

Zn-Al-Mg (ZAM) Coated Products at Zhong’an Steel

Zhong’an Steel is one of the leading, dedicated and high quality ZAM coated materials producer of China. During the visit, the delegation focused on product quality and the company’s production capabilities.

Zn-Al-Mg (ZAM)  coated products are used across a wide range of industries due to their corrosion resistance, hence longer service life in comparison to Galnanized (Zinc coated) products and ability to perform in challenging environmental conditions. And as a result ZAM coated products are undeniably the most preferred products in the Solar Energy (PV) applications as supporting frames for the Solar Panels in the field. Being the introducer and leading supplier to the Turkish Market, The IMG Group delegation discussed the technical requirements, quality criteria and supply options for these products directly with the manufacturer’s representatives.

In addition to product specifications, the meetings also covered potential cooperation models with Zhong’an Steel and the suitability of the relevant products for the Turkish market.

Direct contact with the manufacturer made it possible to address technical questions at source and compare available product options in greater detail. The factory visit also provided first-hand insight into the company’s production infrastructure and operational processes.

High Quality Steel Pipes of FAST TUBE – Wuxi

During the visit to FAST TUBE, the quality and production capabilities of FAST TUBE was quite impressive. The company produces special high quality Cold-Drawn Seamless and ERW pipes, with a splendid productivity levels.

The IMG Group held very positive talks with the company representatives especially on the import opportunities of cold-drawn seamless pipes to Turkish Market.

Quality, Certification and Supply Continuity

Three main topics stood out throughout the factory visits and meetings in China: product compliance with technical requirements, transparency in certification processes and supply chain continuity.

IMG Group did not evaluate the products under consideration solely on the basis of commercial terms. Production conditions, quality standards, delivery expectations, technical documentation and opportunities for long-term cooperation were also taken into account.

The factory visits made it possible to compare the information provided by manufacturers with actual production conditions. Face-to-face meetings also helped communicate technical requirements more clearly, identify potential issues at an early stage and establish working processes based on mutual expectations.

As part of the programme:

• Production facilities and operational infrastructure were closely observed on site.
• Product groups being considered for the Turkish market were evaluated.
• Technical documentation and product certifications were reviewed.
• Quality standards, delivery times and supply continuity were discussed.
• Potential commercial opportunities and cooperation models were explored.
